Epsom Downs circular

Ramble; 3404.  Meet Tadworth station KT20 5SP at 11:08. Distance: 5.5 miles. Lunch: Silver Spoon Diner,  Tattenham Crescent KT18 5QG (GR225 584) 14.30. There are several other eating places to choose from.  Travel: London Bridge 10.17, East Croydon 10.31, Tadworth 11.08. Also Victoria 10.09, Clapham Jctn 10.16, East Croydon 10.27 change at Purley 10.48. (Within Freedom Pass area)  Leaders: Brenda 07731 781 283 or Andy 07917 844 501. Description: A short walk to Walton-on-the-hill. Then via Langley Vale Woodland Trust’s 1st World War Centenary Wood with its sculptured benches, to Epsom Downs Racecourse and Tattenham Corner (31/2 miles). After lunch proceed back over downs to Tadworth (2 miles). Short stretch with stiles, otherwise mainly tracks over the downs. Possible drop-off at Tattenham Corner. Return trains every half hour.
