About Us

The Forest Ramblers are a London walking club founded in 1884. We are generally believed to be the oldest rambling club still in existence in the UK.

Our rambles take place in London and the surrounding countryside.

We walk on the second, fourth and fifth Thursdays of the month.

All our walks depart from a National Rail or TfL station.

We start in the late morning so that full use can be made of Freedom Passes and Senior Rail Cards.

Our walks usually proceed at a leisurely to moderate pace.

Please be aware that you take part in all our walks at your own risk.

If you have any queries feel free to to contact the Walk Leader shown in the walk description or

for membership enquires contact Peter Cleary at peter.cleary@hotmail.com

We always lunch at an appealing pub, generally within two miles of the start of the walk.
