Distance: 6 miles.

Travel: Central Line (Epping Branch). Approximate tube times to Theydon Bois from Oxford St 45 mins, from Liverpool Street 35 mins, from Stratford 25 mins. Within Freedom Pass boundary.

The walk follows the Epping Forest Oak Trail. The morning walk of 2 miles is across fields rising steadily to Bell Common and the lunch stop. After lunch we follow an undulating good path through Epping Forest back to Theydon Bois, passing the deer sanctuary. There is a drop-out point at Epping (lunch) and in the afternoon the route can be shortened by 2 miles on an easy path back to Theydon Bois station.
