Meet : Richmond Station TW9 1DN at 11:00 Distance : 6.5 miles.
Lunch : New Inn, Ham Common, Petersham Road, Richmond TW10 7DB (GR TQ179721) at 12.45.
Travel : Waterloo 10:33, Vauxhall 10:35, Clapham Jcn 10:41 or use District Line.

This will be a peaceful and easy walk, much of it along the Thames Towpath, passing Marble Hill House (on the opposite bank of the river) and Ham House, to Ham Common for lunch. (The 65 Bus stops outside New Inn, every 8 minutes to and from Richmond Station.) After lunch we shall enter Richmond Park (National Nature Reserve) through Ham Gate, then to the Isabella Plantation to view the seasonally blooming azaleas and rhododendrons. We shall leave Richmond Park by Petersham Gate, following the footpath past Petersham Church and across Petersham Meadows to re-join the towpath and return to Richmond Station.There are a number of cafes and pubs around Richmond Station.
