Travel: London Underground Victoria Line, London Overground, Great Northern Railway. Return from Alexandra Palace station on Great Northern, trains every few minutes. Within Freedom Pass boundary.

The Parkland Walk. An interesting walk following the route of a former railway – now a walkway – from Finsbury Park to Alexandra Palace. The walk starts at H&I station, passes through Highbury Fields, and skirts the Arsenal stadium en route to the start of the elevated walkway at Finsbury Park. The morning walk is 2.5 miles and there is a dropout/joining point at Crouch Hill Overground station within 150m of the lunchtime pub. In the afternoon the walk passes close to Highgate tube station (another dropout point) and then ascends through woodland to Alexandra Palace, which offers great views over the whole of central London.
