Travel: Thameslink service. Sutton 09.46 and change at Blackfriars for 10.27 to Harpenden. Blackfriars 10.27, Farringdon 10.31, St Pancras Int 10.43, West Hampstead 10.59. Return trains every 20 mins. Freedom Pass boundary Elstree & Borehamwood.

Harping around Harpenden. A walk through parkland and woodland, incorporating Rothamsted Experimental Station and Rothamsted Manor. Thence through fields, joining the Nicky Line (disused railway) into Redbourn. After lunch, we pass through Hammondsend Wood, Harpenden golf course, and Harpenden Common.
