Guildford circular

Ramble: 3467. Meet: Guildford station GU1 4UT 11.02. Distance: 6 miles. Lunch: The Queen Victoria, Station Row, Shalford GU4 8BY (GR TQ002472) 13.45. Travel: London Waterloo 10.30am. On leaving Guildford station the walk climbs up to the castle with its very pretty gardens and then there is a further short steep stretch up to the top of Pewley Down with magnificent views. The route takes us down into the valley where we pick up the North Downs Way and eventually walk past the National Trust Shalford Mill. The morning walk is 3.4 miles with the afternoon being slightly shorter and mostly along the River Wey.
