Travel: Waterloo 10.39, Vauxhall 10.43, Clapham Junction 10.48, Wimbledon 10.55, Epsom 11.17. Freedom Pass boundary Ewell West. Return trains 16.45, 17.15.

A Surrey Saunter. A pleasant 3-mile morning walk from Effingham Junction past the cricket club and round fields and ponds and Oaken Wood to reach Bookham for lunch. (Bookham station is a drop-out point.) After lunch, the walk skirts the Common and Great Mornshill Wood, copses and thickets to return to Effingham station.
