Travel: Liverpool Street station TfL Rail 11.18. Return trains every 15 mins. Within Freedom Pass boundary.

Meet outside Clapton station. The walk crosses Walthamstow Marshes to the Walthamstow Wetlands. These are the largest urban wetlands in Europe and opened as recently as October 2017. They host many species of water birds. After lunch at the Ferry Boat Inn we return to Clapton via the west bank of the River Lea. The walk is flat and on good paths. There are several drop-out points.
