Canada Water to Mile End linear.

Ramble: 3400. Meet: Canada Water tube station SE16 (bus station exit) 11.30. Distance: 5.5 miles. Lunch: Pommelers Rest (Wetherspoons), 196 – 198 Tower Bridge Road, SE1 2UN.  Grid ref: TQ 335799. 12.45. Travel: Jubilee Line, London Overground to Canada Water. Within Freedom Pass boundary. Leader: Marjorie 07547 232 812. After leaving Canada Water the walk goes through Southwark Park, along Bermondsey Wall to Shad Thames and the historic pub (2 miles). After lunch it crosses Tower Bridge and follows the Ornamental Canal to Shadwell and Limehouse Basins. The walk proceeds to Tower Hamlets’ Cemetery Park which is one of the seven great cemeteries. The walk ends at Mile End Underground Station (Central, District Lines), There are good paths and plenty of drop out points after lunch.
