Bookham circular

Ramble: 3421. Bookham station, KT23 3JY,  10.41. Distance: 7 miles. Lunch:  Ye Olde Windsor Castle, 25 Little Bookham Street, Little Bookham, KT23 3AA  (GR TQ124545) 13:15. Travel:  Waterloo 9.54;  Vauxhall 9.58;  Clapham Junction 10.03;  Wimbledon 10.10;  Epsom 10.28.  Buy day return to Bookham,  Freedom Pass boundary Ewell West. Guildford train from Waterloo, usually Platform 1, but always Plats. 1-5.  Leader:  Richard M. 07930-338 571. From station we walk onto Bookham Commons – paths through woods & coppiced areas.  We pass a bird hide and lake, then alongside Slyfield Farm and Stud, horses galore and very scenic views. 4 miles to lunch, then back onto Commons, allotments and different lake.  At the finish, weary walkers are invited to gather at Richard’s new house (3 mins. from station) where refreshments (incl. beers) and snacks will be offered.   Drop out possible at lunch stop, also anyone wishing to meet at lunch (easy) should contact Richard for details.
