Frequent return trains.\n \n               Freedom Pass Boundary: Surbiton.\n \nLeader: Rosemary 07486 081 775\n \n                On leaving Guildford station the walk climbs up to the Castle with its very pretty gardens and\n                then there is a further short steep stretch up to the top of Pewley Down with magnificent\n               views. The route turns down into the valley to the North Downs Way and to the pub via\n               Shalford Mill (NT). The morning walk is 3.4 miles with the afternoon being slightly shorter\n                and mostly along the River Wey.

Guildford                         11.09. Waterloo 10.30\, fast to Woking 10.55\, arr. Guildford 11.02. Waterloo 10.45\, Clapham Junction 10.52\, arr. Guildford 11.24. (NB.                    The 10.45 does not stop at either Vauxhall or Wimbledon.) Here we\n             skirt the village before heading uphill to the Albury estate. The walk is through woodland and is easy before descending\n             quite steeply to St Peter and St Paul`s church Here we rejoin the road before getting onto the footpath\n              leading back to Shere and the pub for lunch. After lunch we walk through the pretty village and then there\n            is a slight ascent before we retrace our steps back to the station.

All within the Freedom Pass boundary.\nLeaders: Linda 07879 335 445 and Tony 07850 711 962\n \nThe walk takes in attractive parks\, woodlands and gardens and one of the Magnificent Seven Cemeteries.  Starting with Crystal Palace Park and Sydenham Wells Park before lunch and afterwards continuing through the Horniman Gardens\, Camberwell Old Cemetery and Peckham Rye Park to Nunhead Cemetery.  A couple of steepish uphills and downhills where a stick might be useful but mainly park paths and pavements.  Option to shorten walk from Sydenham Hill station after lunch or by bus or Forest Hill station near the Horniman.\n

We carefully cross\nthe busy A246 to Bockets Farm. When we reach Fetcham Downs we ascend a narrow\npath to the entrance of Norbury Park and then down into the Mole Valley. We re-cross the\nRiver Mole and then carefully cross the A24 into Mickleham where we have lunch with\nexcellent views across the Mole Valley.. After lunch we re-cross the A24 and the River\nMole following the Mole Gap Trail passed The Priory and under the A246 alongside the\nriver back into Leatherhead

After lunch we head south through the golf course to enter Pitzhangar park following                                 the river Brent to exit west towards the arts and crafts Brentham estate. Passing the Fred Perry Brentham club we continue east                             towards Hangar Lane turning south towards Hangar Hill woods and its pitch and putt course to exit and turn east towards the                                 North Circular for buses to Ealing Broadway station.\n
