The pub is a short distance from Cockfosters LU station  Leave the station via the exit marked Way Out and Northbound Buses and walk up Chalk Lane. 

Travel: Great Northern Rail Moorgate 11.22, Highbury and Islington 11.30, Finsbury Park 11.37 OR Kings Cross 11.27 change Finsbury Park Arr. 11.32 Dep. 11.37 Platform 8   

Return: Cockfosters Station Piccadilly Line.  All within Freedom Pass boundary

After leaving Hadley Wood station and a short walk on pavements the morning 2.5 mile walk  is on shady paths through Hadley Woods to the pub at Cockfosters. After lunch it’s a 3.5 circular walk exploring a small part of the 413 acre Trent Country Park. The Sassoon family owned Trent Park house which was, also, used to house captured German officers before becoming a teacher training college.  It is now being redeveloped as housing. There is a café at the end of the walk or, for those who have a need a return to The Cock Inn!!
