On leaving Guildford station the walk climbs up to the Castle with its very pretty gardens and
then there is a further short steep stretch up to the top of Pewley Down with magnificent
views. The route turns down into the valley to the North Downs Way and to the pub via
Shalford Mill (NT). The morning walk is 3.4 miles with the afternoon being slightly shorter
and mostly along the River Wey.
