West Horsley\, KT24 6BG (GR TQ078529) 13.00  \n                      \nTravel: (SWR Guildford service) Waterloo 10.03\, Vauxhall 10.07\, Clapham Jct 10.12 Wimbledon 10.19.\n               Freedom Pass boundary: Surbiton\n \nLeader: Liz 07721 329 326\n \nLeaving the station we take the footpaths and tracks to West Horsley place. \n\nWe cross the A246 and head on up Sheepleas. Gentle climb but good underfoot\nand wooded so if it’s inclement we have some cover.\nWe walk around this lovely area of open land and wooded paths. At  St Mary’s church\nwe recross the A246 and head across the fields ( it can be very wet underfoot here so \nwaterproof walking boots) to the rear of Squires garden centre and Cranmore school \nbefore arriving at the pub.\nAfter lunch we set off along tracks towards Horsley station and this can be as long \nor short as people wish depending on the weather.\nThere is an infrequent bus (No 478)  from near the pub  to Guildford or Leatherhead\nfor anyone wanting it.

Starting before lunch with the gardens of St John’s in Benjamin Street and those of the St John Priory Church and visiting St Peter’s Italian Church before continuing northwards to the area past the Clerks’ Well with its interesting social housing and buildings to Spa Fields and Exmouth Market. 3 miles. \nAfter lunch exploring the historical areas of Smithfield and Charterhouse: 2.5 miles.\n
