The 2.5 mile walk\nbefore lunch goes through Wanstead Park and across Wanstead Flats to\nLeytonstone. The afternoon continues across Leyton Flats to the southern\nend of Epping Forest and South Woodford.\n\n

Then to Hyde Park walking along the Serpentine and the Long Water to Lancaster Gate\, across Kensington Gardens to Kensington High Street for lunch. After lunch\, continuing to Holland Park and then through the Park via the Japanese garden. After which going to Notting Hill Gate underground station. Expected finish time c 15.30.\nBeing based in central London there are plenty of drop-out points\, if required.

DESCRIPTION:Ramble: 3490. \nMeet: Clandon station GU4 7TE at 11.00. \nDistance: 5 miles. \nLunch: The Barley Mow\, 181 The Street\, West Horsley KT24 6HR (GR TQ080537) 12.30 \nTravel:  London Waterloo 9.54 long way around via Epsom (10.28)  Clapham Jct  10.03\n              London Waterloo 10.03  Clapham Jct 10.12 ( Guildford via Cobham line)\n              Buy a return ticket to Clandon.\n              Freedom Pass boundary: Surbiton or Ewell West.\n \nLeader: Liz 07721 329 326\n \n\nThe walk starts in sleepy Clandon walking through a quiet residential area. We then follow a footpath next to a stream\, across fields\, through woods and meander towards Horsley where we have lunch. Approx 3 miles.\nAfter lunch we walk along tracks for 2 miles towards Horsley station. There is a shorter 1 mile route for those who want a gentler time and there is a bus stop near the pub for infrequent buses to Leatherhead and Guildford. Number is 478 so need to check timings if that is an option for anyone.\nMainly flat but can get muddy so waterproof walking boots advised.\nTrains from Horsley are frequent in the afternoon.
