Lunch: The Peterboat\, 27 High Street\, Leigh-on-Sea SS9 2EN  (GR TQ 838857) 12.30   Travel: (c2c) London Fenchurch Street 11.34\, Limehouse (DLR) 11.38\, Barking (Hammersmith & City\, District & Overground 11.48.  Freedom Pass boundary: Upminster BUT just £7 for a c2c Senior Rover over 65 all day and all stops ticket.  Frequent return trains from Southend Central taking about 55 mins to Fenchurch Street.  Leader: Linda P 07879 335 445.  After an early lunch at Leigh (still a working fishing village)\, this seaside walk follows a beach side path taking in good views across the estuary to the Kent coast via quiet coast towns to Southend. Option to shorten the walk from various stations along the route. Also an opportunity to walk the 1.3 miles out to the end of Southend Pier (and possibly to take the pier train back).  \n

Distance: 5 miles Lunch: The Plough\, Orestan Lane\, Effingham\, Leatherhead KT24 5SW (GR TQ116538) 13.00 Travel:  Waterloo 10.33\, Wimbledon 10.49 ( towards Guildford via Cobham) Freedom Pass boundary: Surbiton Leader: Liz  07721 329 326 Description: Leaving the station we walk via Effingham Common joining the Old London Rd through Greatlee Wood and across fields to the village of Effingham where we have lunch. Approx 2.5 miles.  After lunch we head towards Bookham following tracks through Oaken Wood and onto the Common where we find the station. Again about 2.5 miles but can vary according to weather or light! Trains 41 minutes past the hour for trains to Effingham and trains to London  OR 16.18\, 16.48 17.18 18.05 from Bookham also towards Wimbledon and London with no change. Bus 479 is hourly to Guildford and half hourly to Leatherhead with more London trains. For those wanting a pub you can do a detour to the  Olde Windsor Castle\, Bookham. Food orders for lunch will need to be placed via Liz by Sunday 19 Nov.

Leader: David M. 07929 750 722 A pleasant walk through woods\, lanes and fields in the Hertfordshire countryside. May be muddy underfoot in places and there are some steep sections and 4 stiles enroute. 4.5 miles before lunch and two after.  No dropout points after lunch.
