After lunch we shall enter Richmond Park (National Nature Reserve) through Ham Gate\, then to the Isabella Plantation to view the seasonally blooming azaleas and rhododendrons. We shall leave Richmond Park by Petersham Gate\, following the footpath past Petersham Church and across Petersham Meadows to re-join the towpath and return to Richmond Station.There are a number of cafes and pubs around Richmond Station.

From Great Missenden we walk 1.5 miles to Little Kingshill for lunch. After lunch the walk widens out to circle round Great Kingshill and towards Prestwood\, through several beech woods on the way back to Great Missenden. There are no drop-out points and buses are infrequent\, but for anyone wanting a short walk it is possible to retrace the morning’s steps after lunch.
