We then enter Home Park\, walk alongside Long Water and make our way to Kingston\, to complete 2 ½ miles\, before lunch. After lunch we enter Bushy Park with its many deer\, and make our way via Leg of Mutton Pond to Woodland Gardens\, where we will hopefully see numerous varieties of ducks. Then we return via Diana Fountain to the station to complete the final 3 ½ miles.

The walk takes us due north to see some heritage within the village and we emerge on West Heath and Whitestone Pond. We walk along what’s known as The Pergola and The Hill garden and eventually arrive at Golders Hill Park (part of the Heath). This takes us straight to the pub for lunch. In the afternoon we’ll marvel at the weird Sandy Heath and then cross over to East Heath (the largest part of the Heath)\, where we intend to stop at the well-known sights\, including Kenwood House\, the ponds and Parliament Hill\, plus some that are less known by most. Arrive Hayes(Kent) 11.23                                             Anyone from the Croydon area can catch the tram from outside East Croydon station to Elmers End station\n                and board the 11:12 train to Hayes (Kent)\, which arrives at 11:23\n                 All travel is within the Freedom Pass area.\n\n Leader: Bill 07958 521 632\n                The walk takes us across Hayes Common\, through Colyers Wood then along Barnet Wood Road to Keston Mark.\n\n                We cross Keston Mark close to the bus garage and then over Princes Plain to link up with the London Loop through Sparrow Wood. \n               We then follow a small brook into Petts Wood where we lunch at The Daylight Inn close to the station.\n                After lunch we board the train back to London Bridge.\n

Gentle climb but good underfoot\nand wooded so if it’s inclement we have some cover.\nWe walk around this lovely area of open land and wooded paths. At  St Mary’s church\nwe recross the A246 and head across the fields ( it can be very wet underfoot here so \nwaterproof walking boots) to the rear of Squires garden centre and Cranmore school \nbefore arriving at the pub.\nAfter lunch we set off along tracks towards Horsley station and this can be as long \nor short as people wish depending on the weather.\nThere is an infrequent bus (No 478)  from near the pub  to Guildford or Leatherhead\nfor anyone wanting it.

Terrific views of the Thames across the water and also the business district as one comes into Canary Wharf. Also the Thames Clipper piers are numerous along the way. Lunch is under 1 1/2 miles from the start\, and the post lunch walk is around 5 1/2 miles. There are drop out points after lunch at Wapping station or Canary Wharf. For those that make the whole walk there is a decent pub and also a coffee shop at Island Gardens at the end. Wrap up well as it is the end of January\, and also wear very comfortable (cushioned?) shoes as all the walking is on stone/pavements.

We should be back at Victoria station by 4 pm. It’s a flat walk all on pavements and being London there are plenty of drop out points including Sloane Square LU station.

Within Freedom Pass boundary.\n             Trains half hourly arriving x.25 and x.55\, and departing for London from Chipstead at x.28 and x.58.\nLeader: Laurie 07811 588 988 (on the day)\n               Walk is 1.3 miles before lunch and 4.7 miles after. The walk takes in woodland paths and can be muddy after rain.\n               Some short sharp hills and one stile. Pleasant country scenery.\n
