Distance: 6 miles (4.5 miles before lunch and 1.5 after)

Travel: Gomshall station is served by GWR trains from Guildford. Guildford 11.36, arr Gomshall 11.52. Recommended trains departing Waterloo for Guildford are as follows. Waterloo 10.03, Vauxhall 10.07, Clapham Junction 10.12, Wimbledon 10.19, arr. Guildford 11.09. Waterloo 10.30, fast to Woking 10.55, arr. Guildford 11.02. Waterloo 10.45, Clapham Junction 10.52, arr. Guildford 11.24. (NB. The 10.45 does not stop at either Vauxhall or Wimbledon.) For car drivers, there is free parking in the Gomshall station approach.

Walk: We leave the station and there is a bit of road walking before we get onto the footpath leading to Shere. Here we
skirt the village before heading uphill to the Albury estate. The walk is through woodland and is easy before descending
quite steeply to St Peter and St Paul`s church Here we rejoin the road before getting onto the footpath
leading back to Shere and the pub for lunch. After lunch we walk through the pretty village and then there
is a slight ascent before we retrace our steps back to the station.
