(Contact Richard M. on the day 07930 338 571).\n \n                 This is a very pleasant walk through woodland\, forest and grassland\, with scenic views over and around                                                                           Bookham Commons.  The terrain is easy\, mainly flat with no stiles.\n                 After lunch a small fleet of luxury charabancs transport us from the pub to the start of an easy afternoon stretch which brings us back                    to Fran & Richard’s imposing mansions which will once again play host to all walkers who might wish to imbibe a wide range of                              beverages\, hot and cold\, together with an even wider range of consumables which will\, no doubt\, include one of Fran’s magnificent                        homemade cakes.\n \n                 Notes:  Anyone wishing to join at lunchtime should travel to Cobham/Stoke D’Abernon station (Waterloo to                                                                  Guildford via Coham/Stoke D’A) which is a 5 min. walk to the pub.  Anyone wishing to drive to Bookham may do so and park in our                       Merrylands Farm carpark.  Cuppas offered to anyone wishing to do so and arriving by 11.20.

This walking guide starts at Lambeth North and winds its way to Brixton\, taking in some lesser known schemes\, such Wellington Mills\, through to pioneering estates by Lambeth Borough architect Ted Hollamby.

After lunch we return with a short walk                in  Horton Park returning to the Hogsmill River and back to Ewell West Station.\n            For anyone wishing to drop out after lunch there is a half hourly service to London Waterloo from Chessington North Station which is a                c12 . minute walk from the pub.

RM2 5HA (GR TQ525898) 13.15  \n Travel: Elizabeth Line (Shenfield Branch).  Frequent trains – journey times from Paddington 39 mins\, Bond Street 36 mins and Stratford 25                      mins.  Within Freedom Pass boundary.  \n Leader: Marjorie 07547 232 812  \n This walk follows the Thomas England Walk through 4 of the ‘green lung’ parks of Romford.  It has been difficult finding a lunchtime pub so I have had to be creative.  Therefore\, we take a 1.5 walk through Lodge Farm Park and a bus ride  to the pub.  We then return to the walk by bus going through Raphael Park and  Rise Park to Bedfprds Park where we take a circular route including the lake and the red deer sanctuary before catching a bus back to Romford Station. Good paths throughout.

After lunch we pass through Milton Heath and the Nower Park\, through Dorking town centre\, then back to Dorking station. \n
